Safer journeys in times of flood

Screen Shot 2014-01-08 at 14.29.04Anxious to spare our members and other motorists from the distress and danger that can go with getting stuck on a flooded road, we have produced a short video with simple advice for drivers on staying safe in the present conditions.

The main message from the free three-minute video is for drivers to postpone journeys and not to go attempt to drive through floods. But for those who get caught, there are tips on maximum depths of water to drive through, paying heed to flood warnings and road blocks, how to reduce the risk of stalling and what to do if you do stall in a flood.

We thought it would be useful to compile this video version of our members’ most frequently asked questions in an attempt to help drivers when rain, spray and increasing levels of surface water threaten their safety on the road.
