Time saving tip for logbook changes

Do you wish to slash the time taken for V5C updates from weeks to days? Instead of sending your logbook to DVLA, you can now make changes online.

According to the DVLA’s Chief Executive, Julie Lennard:

“We are launching this service at a time when online services are becoming even more vital to help people get back on the road,”

The Government department receives approximately 1.5 million requests for address changes annually and it states that the new website cuts the time taken for a new logbook to arrive from six weeks to five days. The process on the website takes only a few minutes.

Due to delays, caused by the coronavirus, the DVLA is encouraging the public to use more online services to try and reduce its backlogs. This is one reason why the agency authorised a seven months-long extension to photocard driving licences back in June. <https://www.gov.uk/government/news/drivers-granted-7-month-photocard-licence-extension>
