Already proving to be a popular tool with its members, GEM Motoring Assist’s new iPhone and Android app has been voted ‘App of the Week’ this week in Auto Express magazine.
No.1 for breakdown cover GEM launched its new iPhone and Android App at the end of last year, giving customers added reassurance and assistance when on the roads.  Free to download from iTunes and the Android market, the must-have App has user-friendly menu features with invaluable tools such as ‘Traffic Updates’, an ‘Assist Me’ GPS locater and handy ‘My Renewals’ tab.
Breaking down somewhere unfamiliar can be daunting, but with the GEM App, next time drivers head off in their car they will be safe in the knowledge that if they break down and need roadside assistance, GEM is there at the touch of a button. Not only does the ‘Assist Me’ button find a motorist’s exact location, it also puts them in direct contact with the GEM Motoring Assist Control Centre.
With the new App, congestion can be a thing of the past.  Planning ahead with the useful ‘Traffic Update’ button allows drivers to view traffic alerts for the journey and plan their route to avoid traffic jams, accidents and road works. Perfect for when people need to be somewhere on time, users will love this traffic-busting feature.
What’s more, remembering to renew breakdown cover has never been easier. The ‘My Renewals’ feature helpfully reminds drivers when their motoring cover is up for renewal, to ensure they are always fully covered. Once customers have downloaded the app, they can enter their renewal details and will receive a diary reminder three weeks before they are due to renew their breakdown cover, car insurance, road tax, MOT and car services.
The App is also useful for keeping up-to-date with GEM Motoring Assist news, allowing members to read up on different articles and take part in polls and competitions using the ‘Good Motoring’ page.  With all this information in one place, this App is a must-have for motorists.
