GEM once again secures top spot in latest Auto Express Driver Power Survey

RESULTS FROM the 2014 Auto Express Driver Power Survey show once again that GEM Motoring Assist remains the UK’s number one breakdown recovery provider. The result sees GEM in the top spot for the fifth year out of the last seven.

Specifically, it also reveals that GEM topped the overall service/experience category for the fifth successive year.

GEM scored the highest marks in nine of the ten categories in the annual survey. Beating off competition from some of the biggest companies in the country, GEM scored 93.3% overall, including the highest ratings in the following categories:

  • overall experience
  • telephone experience when reporting the breakdown
  • keeping members informed while waiting for help to arrive
  • time taken to arrive at a breakdown
  • ability to fix a fault
  • friendliness and helpfulness
  • general presentation of technician and van
  • explanation of what’s wrong
  • online ordering

GEM chief executive David Williams MBE said: “We are thrilled to be in top position yet again. It is particularly satisfying to see that, for five consecutive years now, we have received the award for best overall service and experience.

“We are proud to receive this accolade, and it once again goes to show that being biggest doesn’t mean being best.  We thank everyone who voted for us this year.

“Everyone at GEM will use this news as an incentive to strive for even higher standards, so that the service we provide to our members continues to get better and better.”

GEM was voted number one for breakdown cover in the 2013, 2011, 2010 and 2008 Auto Express Driver Power Surveys, and was runner up in 2012 and 2009.
