GEM’s ‘Blue Light Aware’ resource is ‘highly commended’ in Intelligent Instructor Awards 2021
MEMBERS of the Blue Light Aware team at GEM Motoring Assist are thrilled that the resource was ‘highly commended’ in the ‘Product of the Year’ category during the recently-announced Intelligent Instructor Awards 2021.
The awards recognise excellence within the driver training industry, rewarding key industry suppliers, both regional and national driving schools, as well as individual driving instructors from right across the country.
GEM chief executive Neil Worth said he was delighted that Blue Light Aware had been identified as a worthwhile and effective way of imparting such useful information with learners and newly-qualified drivers.
“The total views of all videos across all platforms since our September launch is 1.26 million,” he said. “Our video explaining the rules on solid white lines has had 612,000 views on Facebook alone, with a total reach for all videos of 998,000.
“Impressions on Twitter for our September and December campaigns totalled 733,000, while Facebook reach for the same period was 998,000. We know that both these figures will increase again once the current campaign is completed, and we are confident that the total reach will go beyond two million by the end of March – something we are very proud of.”
The Blue Light Aware resource was designed to assist drivers by helping them identify solutions to a number of traffic scenarios involving emergency vehicles where confusion is frequently reported. Each video shows how drivers can plan dynamically to make space for emergency vehicles and to deal safely with each given situation.
