Prince Philip HRH

GEM Motoring Assist was saddened to hear of the death of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

The Duke served as President of GEM from 1959 to 1965, and he remained an honorary member of the organisation ever since.

GEM chief executive Neil Worth commented: “Our thoughts and prayers are with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and the Royal Family at this time.

“As an organisation we are immensely proud to have had Prince Philip as a member and also as our President.”

“Thanks to the regular correspondence received from his Private Secretary in recent years, we know that the Duke continued to enjoy receiving his copy of Good Motoring, GEM’s quarterly membership magazine. He would often take the trouble to flag up an item of particular interest from the pages.

“We give thanks for his many years of devoted public service. We are proud of our association with him over the years, and immensely grateful for the support he showed us.”
